Jaunel McKenzie
Founder & Vision Lead
Born and raised in Jamaica, Jaunel McKenzie is a creative force, community builder, and advocate for purposeful living. With a career spanning banking, modeling, and coaching, she has spent years empowering others to pursue excellence while staying grounded in service, faith, and integrity.
Her roots run deep through the island’s culture — shaped by the values of perseverance, compassion, and generosity that define the Jamaican spirit. Whether behind the camera, in the boardroom, or leading a volunteer effort, Jaunel approaches every endeavor with heart and intention, guided by her belief that true success is measured by the lives we touch.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, Jaunel was moved by the widespread devastation across Jamaica and felt an immediate call to act. Determined to provide tangible relief and lasting hope, she joined forces with her dear friend Auraine Scott to co-found Roots & Relief, a movement dedicated to helping families rebuild their lives through compassion, accountability, and action.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Auraine Scott embodies the island’s rhythm, resilience, and community spirit. A proud graduate of Calabar High School, he has built a career grounded in service, integrity, and excellence — values deeply rooted in his upbringing.
With over a decade of experience across higher education, healthcare, consulting, and government, Auraine is a strategic leader dedicated to strengthening communities and creating equitable opportunities.
After witnessing the devastation of Hurricane Melissa, Auraine partnered with longtime friend Jaunel McKenzie to co-found Roots & Relief, a mission focused on helping families rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

As the founder of Barrel Pickings, Baheerah Millwood is dedicated to connecting Jamaica to the world — one shipment at a time. Her company bridges the gap between buyers and suppliers, making overseas purchasing simple, affordable, and reliable for families and organizations across the island.
Through Roots & Relief, Baheerah and her team ensure every donated item is packed, shipped, and received safely, transforming generosity into real impact.
Known for her transparency, excellence, and deep care for community, Baheerah plays a crucial role in turning compassion into action — making sure every box sent brings hope home.
Cyrah Pinnock
Volunteer Mobilization & Community Support
Cyrah Pinnock is a sophomore at Florida Tech, studying Biomedical Engineering with a passion for innovation, impact, and community care. Guided by a deep belief in service, she approaches every project — from research to relief work — with compassion and purpose.
At Roots & Relief, Cyrah helps organize volunteers and coordinate community recovery efforts across Jamaica, ensuring every initiative reflects the organization’s core values of integrity, empathy, and collaboration.
Whether she’s in the lab or on the ground, Cyrah represents the next generation of changemakers — dedicated to unity, rebuilding, and creating a brighter future for all.
